HealtheSteps™ Coach Training Course

The HealtheSteps™ Program is delivered by trained HealtheSteps™ Coaches, who have the tools and resources to improve the health of those around them. This course will train individuals in the innovative coaching method used in the HealtheSteps™ Program, and give them the tools to actually deliver the program in their community. HealtheSteps™ Coaches can be trained Healthcare Professionals (e.g., Registered Nurses, Dietitians, and Physicians), Health Promotion Officers in workplaces, or simply community members that have a passion for improving health.

    HealtheSteps™ Coaching Protocol

    Screening and Enrollment Session

    The screening session is the first time a coach will meet a participant. The participant will learn more about the program and the coach will make sure the interested individual is safe to participate.
    Session 1

    At the first session, the participant and coach will work together to establish the participant’s healthy living prescriptions and set goals to achieve these prescriptions.
    Subsequent Sessions

    HealtheSteps™ generally consists of 4-6 program sessions, each of which are very similar to the first session. The goals set at each session progress to help participants achieve their goals.
    Final Session

    At the final session, the coach and participant will go over the improvements the participant has made throughout the program.
    Certification Quiz

    Each trainee must pass the Certification Quiz to become certified as a HealtheSteps™ Coach.
